1st ANNUAL EVENT
It seems not to long ago the TEXAS DEFENSE ACADEMY began and it's is hard to believe that it has been a full year. TDA opened its door for the first time in January 3, 2013 and last month on December 14, 2013 TDA celebrated its first annual event as full reality based self defense training facility.
The founders of TDA first began with Bryan Malatesta. He started Keysi Fight Method Fort Worth, and later Terry Whiddon came on board as an assistant instructor and within a few months Edwin Rodriguez and Michael Current came on board and began their training KFM. Over the years from 2009-2012 as KFM Fort Worth completed numerous hours of training thru all of KFM levels, ongoing instructor training, ongoing training seminars with Justo Deiguez (founder), Andy Norman (cofounder) and the team of KFM.
At the end of 2012 the founders of KFM decide to part ways. It left KFM Fort Worth in limbo but later we decided to across into A.C.W.A. Comabtives right before 2012 ended. The four guys decided to come up with a name that would cover several training programs. They
came up with the name TEXAS DEFENSE ACADEMY which now offers BALLISTIC 3 (former KFM training), Combat Submission Wrestling CSW with Erik Paulson and John Alan Baker, A.C.W.A. Comabtives under Justin J. Everman.
TDA began with A.C.W.A. Combatives training in 2013. Throughout the year the team decided to bring back KFM training but under a new name - BALLISTIC 3. It gives TDA members a solid foundation of training and cardio conditioning and prepares them for the real world. TDA later in the fall became an affiliate branch of Combat Submission Wrestling CSW under Erik Paulson and John Alan Baker. Classes are set to start in Feburary 2014.
